Jamshedpur, Jan 8: The free three day artificial limbs implant camp organized by Surabhi, the women’s wing of Marwari Yuva Manch (MYM) Steel City branch, at Shri Agrasen Bhawan in Sakchi, has been extended by two more days to accommodate more applicants. The three day camp ensured that 220 applicants had artificial limbs implanted.

 Central Tribal Affairs Minister Arjun Munda, MP Bidyut Baran Mahato and BJP leader Meera Munda were present as chief guests on Sunday, January 8. Wheelchairs, walkers and walking sticks were distributed among the physically challenged persons by the guests. Surabhi expressed gratitude to Omprakash Ringasia for his special contribution to the success of the camp. He was presented a memento as a token of appreciation.

In addition, the Rajasthan Kalyan Parishad of Shri Agrasen Bhawan, distributed blankets among the physically challenged persons who had come to the artificial limb implant camp.  Arjun Munda and Bidyut Baran Mahto, while expressing their views praised MYM steel city branch’s Surabhi wing and the Marwari community in general for executing their social commitments towards mankind. Both leaders assured of their support to the organization’s social causes. Arjun Munda said, “There is no greater service than service to mankind. The entire Marwari community is engaged in realizing the dream of disability-free India.”

 Bidyut Baran Mahato observed, “There can be no greater deed of charity than giving new life, new hopes to hundreds of physically challenged people. Surabhi and the Marwari community are doing great service to mankind by underlining the dictum, ‘service to man is service to God.’”

While presiding over the function, Surabhi branch President, Usha Chowdhary informed, “This camp, organized by us, was initially planned for three days but due to more registrations, it has been extended by two more days so that all persons coming to this camp can be benefitted.”

She further stated that 30 wheelchairs, 7 pairs of crutches, five walkers and five walking sticks were provided to such physically challenged persons who could not be provided artificial limbs due to technical reasons.

Parul Chetani and Rajni Bansal who oversaw the camp activities said that 380 applicants had registered themselves for artificial limb implantation out of whom 220 persons had been provided with limbs. On Tuesday, January 10, 150 more applicants will be fitted with artificial limbs.

E-rickshaw given for employment:-

Rajkumar Shah, a resident of Gadabasa, came to the camp, he does not have both legs. Due to technical reasons, he could not get a foothold. The women of the branch requested their cooperation. He said that there is no need of goods, there is a need for employment. He knows how to drive an auto. Hearing this, the Surbhi branch provided him with a new e-rickshaw for employment, so that he could take care of his family with respect.

His contribution:-

All the members of the branch including Usha Chowdhary, Nidhi Agarwal, Pooja Agarwal, Parul Chetani, Rajni Bansal, Manisha Sanghi, Kavita Agarwal, Nisha Singhal contributed mainly in making this three-day free artificial organ transplant camp a success.

Omprakash Ringsia, Santosh Agarwal, Ajay Chetani, Arun Gupta, Shankar Singhal, Ashok Chowdhary, Bajrang Agarwal, Sanwarmal Agarwal, Deepak Pareek, Kamal Agarwal, Mukesh Agarwal, Vimal Ringsia were present along with many dignitaries.
