JEE Advanced 2026 Results Out: Shubham Kumar of IIT Delhi is AIR 1

New Delhi (IANS): IIT Roorkee announced the results of the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Advanced 2026 today, ending days of anticipation for engineering aspirants across the country. Shubham Kumar from the IIT Delhi zone clinched All India Rank (AIR) 1, while Arohi Deshpande topped the female category.

Shubham Kumar secured the top spot in the Common Rank List (CRL) by scoring 330 out of 360 marks.

Key Highlights and Performance

  • The Top Three: The IIT Delhi zone dominated the national rankings. Following Shubham Kumar, Kabir Chhillar and Jatain Chahar—both from the Delhi zone—secured the second and third positions respectively.
  • Success Rate: Out of 1,79,694 candidates who took both papers on May 17, a total of 56,880 students qualified, including 10,107 female candidates. (Initially, 1,87,389 candidates had registered for the exam).
  • Merit Lists Released: Along with individual scorecards, IIT Roorkee released the CRL and category-wise merit lists highlighting performance across different student categories.

How to Access the Scorecard

Candidates can now check their results on the official JEE Advanced portal. To download the scorecard, students must:

  1. Log in using their registration/roll number.
  2. Enter their date of birth and registered mobile number.

Note: Authorities advise candidates to print and retain a copy of their scorecard, as they will need it during admission and counselling.

What Comes Next?

Qualified candidates will now enter the counselling and seat allocation phase through the Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA).

All 23 Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs)—including Bombay, Delhi, Madras, Kanpur, Kharagpur, Roorkee, Guwahati, Hyderabad, Varanasi, and Dhanbad—accept JEE Advanced scores for their prestigious undergraduate engineering programs. Successful candidates will now begin the next phase of their academic journey, while other aspirants can explore opportunities through NITs, IIITs, and top state-run engineering institutions.
