Jamshedpur: Tatanagar-Howrah Steel Express to remain cancelled on June 11 due to agitation

Jamshedpur, June 10: Hundreds of protesters on Friday blocked railway tracks between Fuleswar and Chengail stations in the Howrah-Kharagpur section and Santragachi level crossing gate from 1.22 pm blocking all Lines over controversial remarks made by two now-suspended BJP leaders against Prophet Mohammad.


South Eastern Railway has decided to cancel several trains due to the agitation.

18043 Howrah-Bhadrak Baghajatin Express, 18003 Howrah-Adra Shiromani Express, 12813 Howrah-Tatanagar Steel Express, 12827 Howrah-Purulia Express, 08001/08002 Howrah-Digha-Howrah Special, 12895 Shalimar-Puri Express were cancelled on June 10.

Railway informed that 12814 Tatanagar-Howrah Steel Express, 18004 Adra-Howrah Shiromani Express, 12828 Purulia-Howrah Express, 18044 Bhadrak-Howrah Express will remain cancelled on Saturday, June 11.

According to South Eastern Railway, 15 nos. of Up and 15 nos. of Down EMU Locals were cancelled on June 10.

Apart from this, a number of Mail/Express and EMU Local trains were detained at different stations enroute.

The agitation has been withdrawn at 8.20 pm and the train services will be restored gradually.

12860 Howrah-Mumbai CSMT Gitanjali Express and 12870 Howrah-Mumbai CSMT Weekly Express will now run on normal route instead of diverted route as notified earlier, said a press communique.
