Jamshedpur, August 31: Tata Steel UISL today inaugurated two state-of-the-art Sewage Pumping Stations at Patel Nagar, Bhuiyadih and Jai Prabha Complex, Kadma further strengthening the city’s wastewater management infrastructure and service coverage area. The facilities, with a capacity of 500 KLD (Kiloliters per Day) at Patel Nagar and 300 KLD at Jai Prabha Complex, represent a significant step in enhancing sanitation services for the community. The Patel Nagar SPS will cater to 350 residential and non-residential properties, while the Jai Prabha Complex SPS will serve 160 properties.
These two sewage pumping systems will increase the service coverage area to nearly 60%. There is plan to either connect the unserved areas to centralized sewage treatment system or to have localized treatment facility (Package sewage treatment system) for around 70% of service area. For balance area, mechanized sewage cleaning services will be made available in coming months.
The inauguration ceremony was led by Chanakya Chaudhary, Chairman, Tata Steel UISL, in the presence of Ritu Raj Sinha, Managing Director, Tata Steel UISL, and Raghunath Pandey, President, JSU (JUSCO Shramik Union). Also present were Pranay Sinha, Chief of Corporate Services, and Sanjeev Kumar Jha, General Manager of Water and Wastewater Services, Tata Steel UISL, along with the Senior Leadership team of Tata Steel UISL.
The event marks a significant milestone in Tata Steel UISL’s mission to enhance urban infrastructure and underscores its dedication to fostering sustainable development in Jamshedpur.
