Jamshedpur, July 8: In a bid to enhance traffic management across the city, SSP Kishore Kaushal has directed all Station House Officers (SHOs) to initiate rigorous inspection drives and ensure strict enforcement of traffic rules. Addressing officials at Burmamines police station, SSP Kaushal emphasized that weekly reviews will scrutinize actions taken, with consequences for any lapses found among traffic SHOs.
Stringent measures are set to target various traffic violations including black film usage, seat belt negligence, speeding, rash driving, triple riding, and mobile phone use while driving. SSP Kaushal underscored that urban and rural areas alike will face intensified scrutiny, with rural SPs instructed to bolster vehicle document checks to combat bike thefts often smuggled to rural zones under the radar.
Furthermore, SSP Kaushal mandated police stations to categorize and monitor both legal and illegal parking areas, highlighting the role of parking lots in bike theft operations. Regular checks on parked vehicles will be conducted to prevent such incidents. Moreover, heightened enforcement efforts are planned for NH-33, Sakchi, and Bistupur areas, targeting speeding and drunk driving through speed guns and mouth analyzer tests.
