Jamshedpur: Shankaracharya’s nationwide campaign for declaring cow as ‘Mother of the Nation’

Jamshedpur, October 4 : Indrajit Mallick performed Paduka Puja today, following traditional rituals. After the ceremony, Jagatguru Shankaracharya Swami Avimukteshwarananda Saraswati Maharaj addressed the gathering, highlighting his campaign to declare the cow as the ‘Mother of the Nation.’ This campaign began on September 22, 2024, in Ayodhya with a circumambulation of Ramkot and has since traveled across most northeastern states, establishing the Gopratishtha flag.

A major milestone was reached when Maharashtra’s Chief Minister Eknath Sambhaji Shinde declared the Desi (Rama) cow as the state’s mother and presented a cabinet proposal to Shankaracharya Ji.

Shankaracharya emphasized the spiritual importance of cow service, stating that cow protection was essential to the nation’s moral and spiritual wellbeing. He called on devotees to support the movement, asserting that the cow embodied the blessings of 33 crore gods and goddesses and was central to Vedic rituals.

The yatra arrived in Sonari, Jamshedpur on Thursday.
