Jamshedpur, October 4: Former MP and senior Congress leader Dr. Ajoy Kumar inaugurated the Durga Puja pandal at Golmuri Circus Ground on Friday. During the event, Dr. Kumar extended his wishes, saying, “May Shakti Swaroopa Ma Durga bless all the people of Jharkhand with happiness, peace, and prosperity.”
Highlighting the significance of Navratri, he emphasized the importance of respecting women, as the festival celebrates the nine forms of Ma Durga. Dr. Ajoy also spoke about the India Alliance’s commitment to empowering women economically, referencing the Maiya Samman Yojna, which provided financial support to around 48 lakh women in Jharkhand.
He further praised the state’s efforts to uplift women, including increasing the honorarium for Anganwadi workers, Sahayikas, and Sahaiyas. Dr. Ajoy Kumar reaffirmed the Jharkhand government’s dedication to ensuring respect and safety for women, while criticizing the opposition for opposing these initiatives.
