Jamshedpur: Senior BJP leader Sachchidanand Rai cremated with full honours

Jamshedpur: Senior BJP leader Sachchidanand Rai, a stalwart who played a key role in strengthening the party from the Jan Sangh era, was cremated with full honours on Sunday. His elder son Brajesh Rai performed the last rites at Swarnarekha Burning Ghat, Bhuiyandih, amid a sombre atmosphere filled with grief and respect.

A Tearful Farewell

Before the cremation, his mortal remains were brought to the District BJP office in Sakchi, where a large number of party workers and leaders gathered to pay their last respects. MP Bidyut Baran Mahato, BJP Mahanagar President Sudhanshu Ojha, and other senior leaders draped his body with the BJP flag and offered floral tributes. The air resonated with slogans of “Sachchidanand Rai Amar Rahe” as party members bid him farewell.

At his Vijaya Garden residence, a huge crowd of BJP leaders, workers, and well-wishers assembled for his last darshan, mourning his passing. The loss was deeply felt by all present.

Leaders Remember His Contributions

MP Bidyut Mahato, expressing his sorrow, said, “Sachchidanand Rai’s contribution to the BJP, from the Jan Sangh days to the present, is invaluable. His dedication and commitment will always inspire us.”

District President Sudhanshu Ojha and other leaders, including Brahmadev Narayan Sharma, Devendra Singh, Chandrashekhar Mishra, Abhay Singh, and many others, joined the final journey.

His passing marks the end of an era in Jamshedpur’s political landscape, leaving behind a legacy of unwavering dedication to the BJP and its ideology.
