Naval Tata’s 118th birth anniversary observed
Jamshedpur, Aug 30: Naval Tata Hockey Academy (NTHA) organised a Hockey Festival for school students to mark 118th birth anniversary of Naval Tata.

Schools across Jamshedpur were invited to experience the glory of Hockey. Over 125 students between STD. 5th to 8th from 15 different schools of Jamshedpur participated in the festival. Each school were requested to send 10 interested boys and girls or mixed group accompanied by their Physical Education teacher.

The day started with paying homage to Naval Tata by Ashish Kumar, Chief Executive Officer of Hockey Ace Foundation. The festival was organised by FIH-certified coaches and National Medallist Players of Naval Tata Hockey Academy.

Each group of schools were greeted and directed towards the Audio-Video room, where they were shown an AV containing a brief history of Indian Hockey and the Life story of Hockey Legend Major Dhyaan Chand. The students were updated on the current rules and regulations of Field Hockey.

Later, the group along with their Physical Education teachers were guided to marked booths where the NTHA cadets explained them about hockey equipment that are used in Field Hockey.

Each participant was issued Hockey sticks to practice a live session on holding the stick, technique of passing, dribbling etc.
