Jamshedpur, Feb 21: Members of Tinplate VRS Karmachari Sangh organized a torchlight procession on Tuesday in support of their demand for jobs to their dependents. Led by the outfit patron and national secretary-cum-spokesperson of Nationalist Congress Party, Dr Pawan Pandey, the protestors took out the rally from Golmuri Circus Maidan to Tinplate Chowk. Pandey said the retired company employees who had opted for VRS demanded permanent jobs for their dependents on seniority basis. “The retired employees had taken VRS with the view to save the company some 22 to 23 years ago. They expect their children to get permanent jobs in their place. The company is expanding and making profit today. It should first permanently recruit the dependents of the retired employees who took VRS before taking in anyone else,” said Pandey.
