Chain Snatching: Scooter-Borne Miscreants Target Woman in Kadma

Jamshedpur: A brazen daylight chain snatching on Anil Sur Path in the Kadma police station area has raised fresh concerns over urban safety after two miscreants targeted a woman on Sunday. The criminals snatched a gold chain from Anita Chowdhary and fled the scene within seconds.

• Surveillance: Reports indicate the accused surveyed the locality prior to the attack.

• Tactical Switch: CCTV footage reveals the duo entering a lane and turning back to execute the crime.

• Identity Evasion: In a deliberate move to mislead identification, the riders switched positions just before the act; the pillion rider took control of the scooter while the original driver moved to the rear.

• Failed Pursuit: The victim’s husband, JP Chowdhary, was walking ahead during the incident and immediately chased the suspects upon hearing his wife’s cries, but he was unable to catch them.

Police Investigation

Kadma police have registered an FIR regarding the incident. The officer-in-charge confirmed that authorities are using CCTV footage to identify the culprits and are currently conducting raids at suspected hideouts.
