Jamshedpur: A brazen daylight burglary at a government quarter in the Sidhgora police station area has raised fresh concerns over urban security after thieves made away with cash and jewellery worth several lakhs. The heist targeted the residence of Tata Steel employee Rakesh Kumar Jha, located near Amal Sangh.
Incident Details and Loss
The burglary occurred on Sunday while the family was away at their native village. A relative, who Jha had entrusted with the house keys, reportedly locked the premises around 8 a.m. before heading to work. Exploiting the empty house, miscreants allegedly forced entry through the rear door.
Once inside, the culprits ransacked the home and broke open an almirah. They stole cash estimated between ₹10,000 and ₹12,000, along with gold ornaments valued at several lakhs. The family discovered the crime at approximately 2 p.m. upon their return, finding their rooms overturned and the locker broken.
Police Investigation
Sidhgora police reached the spot immediately after receiving notification to initiate an investigation. Officers have begun questioning local residents and are scanning for leads to identify the perpetrators. While the audacity of the crime has triggered panic among local residents, the police have assured the public that efforts are underway to crack the case at the earliest.
