Jamshedpur, Feb 4: Ranchi police here on Saturday arrested one Yashwant Kumar Mahato for allegedly trying to crush the Circle Officer of Rahe to death under a heavy vehicle on Wednesday last. They took him to Ranchi for interrogation in connection with the incident and further action in the case. The Circle Officer, Mahendra Chhotan, had a miraculous escape from the murderous attack. He had tightened noose around local sand mafia members which led the latter to conspire a plan to kill him sources said.
