Jamshedpur, Nov 21: Member of PSC Board, Railway Ministry and former vice chairman of Minority Commision, Jharkhand, Gurvinder Singh Sethi, has written a book on the life of Shri Guru Nanak Dev Ji Maharaj titled Guru Nanak Jeevan Aur Sandesh. Sethi on his visit to steel city released the book at Sakchi Gurudwara.
Addressing the media, he said that Chairman of the National Commission for Minorities, Iqbal Singh Lalpura, had released the book in a programme in New Delhi recently. The book has been published by the Ministry of Information Publication of the Government of India. The idea is to spread the message of Guru Nanak across the globe. He said that he will get this book released in other regional languages too.
He went on to inform that he feels proud to release a book on the life of Shri Guru Nanak Dev Ji Maharaj on the occasion of his 553rd Prakash Parv. The book took two years to complete. During Covid-19, Sethi got the idea to write the book.
“Guru Nanak Dev Ji is true example for the right to equality, he played an important role in eradicating discrimination from the society,” he said. Moreover, he believed in equality of humanity.
Author of the book, Sethi, said that through this book he attempted to convey the entire lifetime of Guru Nanak Dev Ji Maharaj to the people in simple words. He said that the many aspects of Guru Nanak Dev Ji’s life have been included in the book.
On this occasion, Secretary of Patna Sahib Gurudwara Inderjeet Singh, Sakchi Gurudwara President Nishan Singh, Satbir Singh Somu, Satinder Singh Banty, Jagtar Singh Nagi were present.
