Jamshedpur: Quest for Intermediate seats in district educational institutions

Mail News Service

Jamshedpur, June 1: The rush for seats in schools and colleges providing education in the intermediate streams has been marked by more than a touch of confusion. The situation has arisen immediately after the announcement of matriculation exam results. The District Education office informed that in addition to the existing + 2 government schools and colleges offering intermediate courses, the process of introducing class XI in minority schools has also been initiated. It may be mentioned that East Singhbhum district has 28 government + 2 schools, 18 minority schools and 11 colleges with provision for intermediate courses. However, these colleges have limited number of seats as do the 18 minority schools. The only bright spot is that the government + 2 schools have set no restrictions to seat availability although the number of admissions would be determined by the total number of seats provided for intermediate courses.
