Jamshedpur, June 23: Police efforts to apprehend Ganesh Singh, wanted in several cases, escalated on Sunday as Telco police affixed a notice at his residence on Mango Dimna Road in connection with the Ranjit Sardar murder case. The police arrived at the location accompanied by drums, and a Quick Response Team (QRT) was deployed for security.

Previously, a court warrant had been issued against Ganesh Singh in the Ranjit Sardar murder case, but he remained elusive. Subsequently, First Class Judicial Magistrate Abhishek Kumar issued a notice against Ganesh Singh. The notice stipulates that if Ganesh Singh fails to appear in court within one month of the notice being affixed, the police will initiate attachment and confiscation proceedings.

Earlier attempts to locate Ganesh Singh included a late-night raid at his residence on Thursday, which did not yield results as he was not present at home.

Ranjit Sardar was tragically murdered near Sabuj Kalyan Sangh under the Telco police station on October 3, 2022, while he was attending Durga Puja festivities with his daughter. The assailants, arriving on a motorcycle, opened fire indiscriminately, resulting in Ranjit’s death.

The incident prompted the Telco police to register a murder case based on the statement of eyewitness Taranjit, Ranjit’s daughter, naming Ganesh Singh as an accused in the FIR.
