MLA Saryu Roy inaugurates Archery Training Center in Jamshedpur

Jamshedpur, June 23: Jamshedpur East MLA Saryu Roy inaugurated the Bal Dhanudhar Archery Training Center located at Sidgora Krida Udyan on Sunday. Funded by Roy’s MLA allocation, the center aims to provide foundational archery education to children aged 9 to 14. Immediately after cutting the ribbon, Roy demonstrated archery skills by attempting to hit the target and encouraged the young archers present.

Anupam Singh, appointed as the Chief Coach of the center, highlighted that regular training sessions and trials will be conducted for enrolled children. The center has already acquired four archery kits through the MLA fund, with provisions for additional kits if required. Singh mentioned that registration details and fees for the training sessions will be finalized soon.

The inaugural ceremony witnessed the participation of archers including Sukhraj Kaur, D. Kavya, Pragya Kumari, Tejas Kumar, and others, accompanied by coaches Prayagraj Singh, Sushanto Patro, and Premchand Mardi. Former Olympian Harbhajan Singh also graced the event with his presence.

The boys’ match kept spectators on the edge of their seats until the final moments. The basketball matches commenced on July 22nd, with yesterday’s match marking an engaging exhibition game.
