Jamshedpur, August 19: An allegation has been raised against the Mango police station in-charge for detaining a man who had lodged a complaint about land mafias attempting to seize his property. The victim’s brother, Md Feroz Qureshi, a resident of Jawaharnagar Road No. 12, Mango, submitted a memorandum to the City SP, accusing the Mango police of placing his brother, Ahmed Qureshi, in the lockup after he reported the land mafia’s threats.

According to Feroz, on Sunday night, a group of land mafias, including Md Umar, Qamar Khan, and Zubair Malik, along with 10-15 others, arrived at their home and began issuing threats, including threats to shoot them. Ahmed Qureshi immediately informed the Mango police station over phone, but no action was taken at that time. However, an hour later, around 11:45 p.m., Mango police arrived at their residence and took Ahmed Qureshi to the station, where he was placed in a lockup.

Feroz stated that when they arrived at the police station to inquire about the situation, the police refused to listen to them. The family has now requested the SP to take action against the mentioned land mafias and provide security to their family.
