Jamshedpur parents arrested for killing minor daughter, dumping body near tracks

Jamshedpur, July 5: Parsudih police here on Tuesday recovered the body of a four year old girl from bushes near the railway tracks between Rakha Mines and Galudih railway stations.

The body was reportedly partially decomposed. Cops identified the victim as the daughter of one Uttam Maity and Anjani Maity.

In a shocking revelation, cops said the couple had thrown the minor’s body near the tracks. During interrogation, Uttam reportedly confessed that he had severely beaten up his daughter in a fit of rage after binding her limbs on 29^th June last as she did not pay attention to studies. The girl sustained severe injuries and died consequently. Shocked and afraid after the incident, the couple first took the girl to Sadar Hospital for treatment, but did not have the courage to go inside and narrate the incident to doctors. Thereafter the couple took the body towards Galudih station in a train and threw it along the tracks to conceal the facts of the minor’s death, cops said.
