Jamshedpur: The National Institute of Technology Jamshedpur on Thursday formally launched the eOffice platform developed by the National Informatics Centre (NIC) and hosted on RailTel Corporation of India infrastructure. The initiative is being seen as a major step towards paperless and transparent administration under the Government of India’s Digital India Programme.
Director Prof. (Dr.) Goutam Sutradhar stated that the implementation of eOffice would enhance accountability and transparency within the institute while making administrative processes faster and more efficient. Registrar (I/c) Prof. Saroj Kumar Sarangi described the initiative as a major step towards making the institute fully digital and paperless.
eOffice is an important initiative under the Digital India Programme aimed at promoting paperless working and efficient administrative systems in Government offices. The platform has already been successfully implemented in several Central Government institutions across the country.
A dedicated Core Committee played a significant role in the successful implementation of eOffice at NIT Jamshedpur. Dr. Koushlendra Kumar Singh led the project as Faculty In-charge, while Dr. Deepak Rai served as the Single Point of Contact (SPOC).
With eOffice now operational across the institute, administrative processes are expected to become more streamlined, digitally integrated, and efficient. The platform will further strengthen file management, correspondence handling, and institutional coordination while supporting a modern and technology-driven governance system.
