Jamshedpur, June 1: Two Zila Parishad candidates, Kusum Purty and Pankaj Kumar, supported by BJP leader and former Zila Parishad vice president Rajkumar Singh were declared winners on the second day of counting of votes on Wednesday. The votes were cast in the fourth phase of the Panchayat elections.
Kusum Purty defeated Soma Devi of Sarjamda who was supported by JMM MLA from Jugsalai Mangal Kalindi by a difference of 2600 votes in Zila Parishad constituency no 6.
Pankaj Kumar was declared winner from Zila Parishad constituency no 7. He defeated his nearest rival Pradip Kumar by over 1200 votes. He was supported by Rajkumar Singh who did not contest the election this time. Rajkumar had also supported Kusum Purty who contested the election first time. He had campaigned for both the candidates.
