Ghatsila, June 1: District transport officer (DTO) of East Singhbhum Dinesh Ranjan led a team of transport department during a crackdown on heavy vehicles plying without national permit near Barsole on Wednesday. As many as 19 vehicles carrying iron ore, sand and other consignment without permit from Odisha to West Bengal were seized by the team. The DTO said all the vehicles seized today did not have permit to play through Jharkhand. Many other documents of vehicles were found to be invalid, he said, adding that the campaign would continue in the coming days.
