Jamshedpur, May 7: Padma Shri recipients Jamuna Tudu and Chhutni Mahto, whose tales of struggles, success amidst daunting challenges have made them sources of a nation’s inspiration, were honoured by the RSB Group in salutation to the spirit of these bold ladies.
Be it Jamuna Tudu’s unflailing struggle to protect the environment by saving forests from the clutches of wily tree hackers or Chhutni Mahto’s crusade against superstition including witch hunting and voodoo practices, the RSB Group has always supported social endeavors of individuals and groups.
With the desire to discuss and cooperate with Jamuna Tudu and Chhutni Mahto in their cause for bringing in social reforms, the Group’s Chairman RK Behera and his wife Urmila Behera honored Jamuna Tudu and Chhutni Mahato and provided financial assistance for their social commitment.
RSB Group Chairman, RK Behera observed on the occasion, “To learn from the past, to live in the present and shape the future, we give priority to the fulfillment of corporate social obligations. On this occasion Urmila Behera expressed happiness and said that Jamuna Tudu and Chhutni Mahto were examples of service and valor. She said that RSB Group would continue to work for women’s empowerment. On this occasion, Padma Shri awardee Jamuna Tudu thanked RSB Group’s Chairman and the company and said that she would continue in her commitment towards environment and its protection.
Chhutni Mahto too thanked the RSB Group Chairman and praised the company. She said that her aim was to eradicate witchcraft and superstition from the entire country. One initiative was to empower women.
