Blood donation camp at DBMS College collects 40 units

Jamshedpur: A blood donation camp was organised at DBMS College campus by the Rotaract Club, with enthusiastic participation from students and staff. The camp was inaugurated by chief guest Rotarian Kusum Thakur, Assistant Governor of Rotary District 3250 Zone 5, along with College President Dr. B. Chandrashekhar, who jointly cut the ribbon to mark the beginning of the event.

Addressing the gathering, Kusum Thakur described blood donation as a noble act that can save lives and cannot be replaced by money. She shared her experiences from the COVID-19 pandemic, highlighting how Rotary members played a vital role in meeting urgent blood requirements during that time.

B Chandrashekhar appreciated the initiative taken by the Rotaract Club and encouraged students to actively participate in such social causes. He also pointed out that many women in Jharkhand face haemoglobin-related health issues and stressed the importance of regular health check-ups.

Principal Dr. Joohi Samarpita motivated B.Ed. students to come forward and contribute to the cause. During the camp, haemoglobin levels and blood pressure of teachers and students were also checked.

College Secretary Priya Dharmarajan congratulated the club members and spoke about the benefits of blood donation. Club Moderator Anjali Ganesan informed that such camps are organised every year, and this time a total of 40 units of blood were collected.
