Jamshedpur, March 30: Saryu Roy, MLA of Jamshedpur West, emphasized that artificial intelligence (AI) must remain a tool in human hands and not evolve into a controlling force.
“AI is a good servant but a very bad master. We must use it as a servant,” he remarked, cautioning against overdependence on technology as a guiding authority.
He was speaking after inaugurating a digital learning institute in Sakchi, where students will be introduced to the fundamentals and applications of AI.
Roy highlighted that in an era driven by rapid technological advancement, it is essential for young learners to understand AI early, as it can significantly enhance their individual capabilities.
The institute aims to equip students with practical knowledge of AI, familiarizing them with its features and real-world relevance.
To strengthen academic delivery, the centre has entered into a collaboration with Institute of Science and Management, Ranchi. Under this arrangement, the institute’s academic programs will now be extended through a dedicated centre in Sakchi.
Addressing concerns surrounding AI, Roy noted that excessive discourse often creates unnecessary fear. He reiterated that AI should be seen purely as an instrument—one that humans must learn to use effectively, rather than depend upon blindly.
