Jamshedpur: Murder accused sent to jail following fatal axe attack

Jamshedpur, April 24: Sanjeevan Sao, the prime suspect in the murder case of his nephew Rudra Mohan Sau (52), has been remanded to judicial custody after allegedly striking him with an axe during a long-standing land dispute. The tragic incident occurred in Jaipura village under the Kheduya Panchayat of Barsol police station area in East Singhbhum district.

According to reports, the dispute between the uncle and nephew had been ongoing for several years. Matters escalated when Sao purportedly attacked Sao with the axe, resulting in critical injuries to the victim. Local residents rushed Sau to Baharagora Marine Health Center for immediate medical attention. Despite receiving initial treatment, Sao’s condition deteriorated, prompting medical authorities to refer him to PRM Medical College, Baripada, for advanced care. Tragically, Sao succumbed to his injuries en route to Baripada while being transported by a 108 ambulance.

Following a thorough investigation by the authorities, Sanjeevan Sao was apprehended on charges of murder. He has been booked under sections 302/201 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and was subsequently sent to jail on Wednesday.
