Jamshedpur: The Rail Yatri Sangharsh Samiti (RYSS) intensified its ongoing agitation on Monday by launching a massive campaign at the second entrance of Tatanagar Railway Station near the Star Talkies–Burmamines side. Local residents and daily commuters logged their grievances regarding unresolved railway passenger issues.
Movement Expands Across East Singhbhum
The committee announced an aggressive expansion plan to take the signature drive directly to different neighbourhoods and subdivisions:
- Mango: May 19, 2026
- Ghatshila: May 24, 2026
Following this regional outreach, the committee will convene a major strategic meeting to chart out its next course of action.
“We Do Not Fear Legal Action”
RYSS Convenor Shiv Shankar Singh warned that the committee will escalate the agitation into disruptive protests if the railway administration continues to ignore passenger demands.
“In the next phase of the movement, we may stage demonstrations and sit-in protests directly outside the residences of senior railway officials to force action on long-pending passenger grievances,” Singh asserted.
Responding to potential pushback from authorities, Singh made it clear that the group would not back down. “Even if cases are filed against us, we are not concerned. Our fight is for the rights and convenience of railway passengers,” he stated.
