Jamshedpur, Feb 10: Jamshedpur MP Bidyut Baran Mahto met Union Minister Ashwini Choubey in New Delhi and discussed the arbitrary transfer of 179 laborers from Jamshedpur to Jasidih and Dhanbad by the Food Corporation of India (FCI). Mahato wrote a letter to Choubey expressing his concerns regarding the unilateral transfer of these laborers. Many of these laborers had been serving in Jamshedpur for a considerable period of time, and several had taken leave due to various reasons. Mahato informed Choubey that these laborers were being replaced by contract workers, despite the FCI providing salaries to its permanent employees elsewhere. This move not only caused financial loss to the government but also disregarded labor regulations. Mahato urged the Minister to immediately revoke the transfer orders and initiate an investigation into the matter, demanding action against responsible FCI management officials.
