Jamshedpur, June 27: Ramakrishna Mission English School, Bistupur organised 3rd Ramakrishna Mission Inter School Chess Tournament 2023 on Tuesday, June 27.
The students competed in two different categories – Senior & Junior. The Rapid Tournament saw students compete in 5 rounds.
Monish Lal of Ramakrishna Mission English School, Sidhgora was declared the winner in senior category scoring 5 points in 5 rounds.
Nandkishor Kumar of Sister Nivedita English School, Burmamines bagged runners-up title as he scored 4 points.
In junior category Akshay Kumar of Sri Ramakrishna High School, Bistupur was crowned the scoring 4 points in 5 round while Ritesh Kumar of Sister Nivedita English School, Burmamines was in the second spot with 4 points.
Total of 34 students (18 in senior and 16 in junior category) from various schools under Ramakrishna Mission participated in the tournament.
Earlier, the tournament was inaugurated by Srimat Swami Premanandji Maharaj of Ramakrishna Mission Vivekananda Society, Jamshedpur.
Chief Guest Apurbo Das, Principal of Ramakrishna Mission English School, Sidhgora felicitated the winners.
Chief Arbiter of the tournament was FA Chandan Kumar Prasad, Arbiter was Awadhesh Kumar, Aman Choubey and Shubhangi Verma.
