Jamshedpur, Aug 23: Jamshedpur East MLA Saryu Roy Tuesday distributed dhotis and saris among the residents of Chhayanagar under the Sona Sobran Dhoti Sari Scheme. The clothes were distributed as per the second half-early distribution plan under the scheme, sources said.
The state government distributes dhotis and saris among all ration card holders twice every year. The dhotis and saris are given for Rs 10 apiece each. They were distributed by Jharkhand Fair Price Dealers Association. Hundreds of people benefitted from the scheme today.
