Jamshedpur MLA Saryu directs halt to Mango flyover construction until Durga Puja

Seeks urgent resolution for water and power issues

Jamshedpur, Sept 27: Jamshedpur West MLA Saryu Roy, on Saturday, held a review meeting with officials from the Municipal Corporation, Road Construction Department, JBVNL and Drinking Water and Sanitation Department to address pressing issues of water, electricity and traffic in Mango.

Roy also inspected the intake well of the Mango drinking water project near Kunwar Basti River and issued clear instructions to halt construction activities on the Mango flyover and NH-33 overhead road until Durga Puja. He stressed that heavy machinery such as cranes and JCBs should remain suspended until the festive season ended to prevent further inconvenience to the public.

The MLA directed officials to install a new motor at the intake well by Saturday night and to complete the installation of its electrical panel without delay. He also urged JBVNL to stop power outages affecting Mango from Sunday onward. Adequate police deployment was requested to ensure smooth traffic flow in the busy area.

Roy noted that residents had repeatedly complained of disrupted water supply, frequent power cuts and worsening traffic congestion over the past two days. Drinking Water officials attributed the problem to electricity disruptions, while JBVNL stated that outages were caused by shifting power lines and equipment for flyover construction.

The MLA informed the Sub-Divisional Commissioner about these difficulties and pressed for immediate remedial action. With Durga Puja pandals now open and heavy festive crowds gathering, Roy emphasized that ensuring uninterrupted water and power supply and smooth traffic arrangements was critical to avoid hardships for citizens.
