Jamshedpur Admin Issues Traffic and Parking Plan for Smooth Durga Puja Festivities

No-entry zones, diversions, and parking arrangements finalized for Durga Puja 2025

Jamshedpur: With the onset of Durga Puja festivities, which will be celebrated from September 28 to October 2, 2025, the district administration has issued detailed guidelines to ensure smooth traffic movement and adequate parking arrangements across Jamshedpur city. The traffic regulations will remain in force daily from 6 am to 2 am during the festive period.

According to the order, several important routes in the city will have traffic diversions, restricted movements, and designated parking zones to manage the massive inflow of vehicles and visitors to puja pandals.

Vehicles coming towards Sakchi from Mango and Agrico will not be allowed to proceed directly to Sakchi roundabout. Instead, they will be diverted from Ramnagar Road via MGM Hospital and then rerouted. Visitors heading to Sakchi pandals will be required to park vehicles at the MGM Hospital ground, from where arrangements will be made for onward movement on foot. This move is aimed at avoiding congestion in Sakchi, which witnesses maximum crowd movement during Durga Puja.

Traffic coming from Sonari, Kadma, and Adityapur towards Bistupur will face strict monitoring, and several No-Entry zones have been earmarked. Vehicles will not be permitted to directly enter the Main Road Bistupur from certain stretches. Instead, diversions will be implemented through connecting lanes and parallel routes.

Visitors to major pandals such as Sonari Ram Mandir, Kadma Rankini Mandir, and Telco Pandals will have to utilize earmarked parking zones, as vehicle entry directly near pandals will not be permitted. In areas like Baridih, Burmamines, Telco, and Golmuri, separate parking slots near Tata Gosala Ground and NTTF campus have been designated.

In all congested areas such as Sakchi, Bistupur, Golmuri, Sonari, Kadma, and Telco, the administration has banned roadside parking to ensure hassle-free pedestrian movement. Volunteers and police personnel will be deployed in large numbers for crowd control and assisting devotees.

Special instructions have been issued for immersion routes to ensure processions pass smoothly without creating traffic jams. Emergency service lanes will be kept free at all times.

Vehicles from Mango side will be diverted towards Dimna Road and Agrico, while Telco-bound vehicles will be diverted towards Golmuri and Burmamines. For those visiting pandals in Golmuri, special parking has been arranged near Tata Gosala Ground.

The administration has emphasized that the traffic plan has been designed to prevent chaos and gridlocks in Jamshedpur during the peak festive days. Police check-posts, barricades, and signages will be installed across the city. Violators of traffic rules, illegal parking, or unauthorized entry into restricted zones will face strict action.

A senior police officer stated, “We expect huge footfall during Durga Puja. To ensure that devotees can enjoy the celebrations without inconvenience, we appeal to citizens to cooperate with the administration by following traffic guidelines and using designated parking areas.”

Parking Arrangements at Key Locations: MGM Hospital Ground – For Sakchi visitors, Tata Gosala Ground – For Golmuri and nearby pandals, NTTF Campus (Telco) – For Telco-bound visitors and Agrico, Burmamines, and Sonari fields – For area-specific pandals

The administration has urged residents to plan their puja pandal visits accordingly, avoid unnecessary vehicular movement in congested areas, and prioritize walking short distances. Special attention has been given to ensure safety of women, children, and senior citizens during the festivities.
