Jamshedpur: Beneficiaries of the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY) met Jamshedpur East MLA Purnima Sahu at her Agrico residential office to discuss the ongoing delays in house allocations and bank loan issues regarding the newly constructed houses in Birsanagar.
During the meeting, the beneficiaries requested the MLA’s intervention, highlighting the delays in their Griha Pravesh (house-warming), obstacles in securing bank loan approvals, and difficulties in depositing installments.
Taking the beneficiaries’ issues seriously, Sahu spoke with Urban Development Minister Sudivya Kumar Sonu over the phone in their presence. During the conversation, Sahu urged the minister to ensure the immediate allocation of the completed housing blocks so that the selected beneficiaries could get ownership of their homes as soon as possible.
Sahu informed the minister about other practical challenges linked to the scheme and emphasized the need for a swift resolution. She stated that poor and middle-class families have been waiting for their homes for a long time, and the government must act sensitively and swiftly in this direction.
In response, Sonu assured the MLA that the department would complete all necessary administrative procedures soon and hand over the keys to the eligible beneficiaries shortly.
Sahu discussed the difficulties beneficiaries face during the bank loan process with Jamshedpur Notified Area Committee (JNAC) Deputy Municipal Commissioner Krishna Kumar. The Deputy Municipal Commissioner assured her that JNAC will extend all possible cooperation to help beneficiaries complete their bank loan formalities seamlessly, ensuring they do not face any hardships.
