Woman Harassed with Obscene Videos in Telco; Accused Arrested After Clash with Police  

Jamshedpur: A disturbing case of digital harassment has surfaced from Barinagar under the Telco Police Station area, where a woman allegedly received obscene videos and vulgar audio messages on her mobile phone for several days. Acting swiftly on the victim’s written complaint, the Telco police arrested the accused youth, identified as Ajju Khan, triggering high drama and tension in the locality after his family members allegedly clashed with the police team during the arrest operation.

According to police sources, the accused had been continuously sending objectionable videos and abusive voice messages to the woman’s phone. The content reportedly contained filthy language and obscene remarks, causing severe mental trauma and harassment to the victim.

Unable to tolerate the harassment any longer, the woman approached the Telco Police Station on May 27 and lodged a formal complaint. Taking the matter seriously, the police immediately launched an investigation. During questioning, the accused allegedly admitted to sending the objectionable digital content to the woman.

The situation escalated dramatically when a police team reached Ajju Khan’s residence to serve legal notice and arrest him. As soon as the police attempted to take him into custody, his family members and several local residents reportedly surrounded the officers and began arguing with them. The verbal confrontation soon turned into pushing and scuffling, creating chaos across the Barinagar locality for some time.

Following information about the commotion, a team from Telco Police Station rushed to the spot along with additional police personnel. The reinforcement team managed to bring the situation under control and safely escorted the accused to the police station.

Police investigations further revealed that tensions had already existed between the victim’s family and the accused’s family in the locality. Although the matter had reportedly been settled earlier, anti-social elements allegedly reignited the conflict, leading to the fresh dispute.

Local residents claimed that many people in the area had previously complained about the behaviour and activities of the accused youth. Meanwhile, the police have registered two separate FIRs in connection with the incident.

The first FIR relates to charges of harassment, sending obscene material, and outraging the modesty of a woman, based on the victim’s complaint. The second FIR concerns obstruction of government duty and assault on police personnel during the arrest operation.

Police officials confirmed that digital evidence, including the accused’s mobile phone, has been seized for forensic examination. Authorities are also identifying others allegedly involved in the scuffle with the police team.
