Jamshedpur man accused of hurting niece for property

Jamshedpur, March 15: A man allegedly assaulted his niece following a property dispute with her father in Bagunnagar Tilak Path locality under Sidhgora police station area on Tuesday.

The victim, Anushka Yadav, sustained head injury in the incident. Her uncle allegedly whacked her head with a cane, causing serious injury to her. He also injured Anushka’s father Anil Yadav and mother.

Anushka accused Sidhgora police of turning a deaf ear to her complaint. She said she had gone to the police station, but no action was taken on her complaint. She said her family lived in a large joint family and that the accused had locked the toilet, causing much inconvenience to other members in the family. She said her family was now going to complain to the Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP), Jamshedpur, against her uncle to seek police action against him.
