Mahatma Gandhi helped Indian culture get global recognition: MP

Jamshedpur, Oct 18: Jamshedpur Mahanagar BJP launched Gandhi Sankalp Yatra in the city on Friday. State food and civil supplies minister Saryu Roy, Jamshedpur MP Bidyut Baran Mahato and district BJP president Dinesh Kumar jointly inaugurated the programme by garlanding a bust of Mahatma Gandhi at Gandhi Maidan, Mango.
The Yatra would continue till 22nd October and cover around 150 km. BJP leaders and workers would spread the message of the Father of Nation among the people.
A youth guised as Mahatma Gandhi caught everyone�s attention during the Yatra. People, especially youths, took selfies with him throughout the campaign.
Addressing the gathering, the Jamshedpur MP said Mahatma Gandhi had helped India and its culture get recognition across the globe and had forced the British to quit India through Satyagrah and other non-violent methods.
Roy said the BJP was the flag-bearer of cultural nationalism. He said the party workers would spread awareness on �Swadesh, Swadharm, Swabhasha and Swadesi� in every village and household.
The BJP district president said the main objective of the Yatra was to spread public awareness on the Mahatma. He said people would be made aware on Swachhata Abhiyan, plantation, corruption and single use plastic.
Others present during the programme included Haldhar Narayan Shah, Rajesh Shukla, Kulwant Singh Bunty, Nandjee Prasad, Vikas Singh, Mukul Mishra, Vijay Ojha, Reena Singh, Sandhya Nandi, Amarjeet Singh Raja, Anil Modi and Prakash Joshi.
Gandhi Sankalp Yatra pulls huge crowd
A huge crowd gathered during BJP�s Gandhi Sankalp Yatra which was organized in two sessions today. In the first session, it started around 9 am from Gandhi Maidan, Mango, and moved through Payal Cinema, RK Colony and Mango market before concluding at Heera Hotel. The second session saw the Yatra start from Sri Ram Mandir, Sonari, around 3.30 pm and reach Thakkar Bappa Club via Khuntadih, Ramnagar, Rankini Mandir and Kadma Ganesh Puja Maidan. The party workers wore caps with the slogan �Bapu Mann Se�. Audio songs were also played during the Yatra.
