Visitors continue to flout order
Jamshedpur: The road inside Jubilee Park, stretching from gate number one to Russi Mody Centre for Excellence, has been declared no-parking zone by the traffic police to address frequent traffic congestion. Barricades made of bamboo sticks have been placed on both sides of the road, and “No Parking” signs have been installed at multiple locations.

The move comes in response to increased footfall in Jubilee Park during December and January, when a number of visitors flock to the park for picnics. Large number of parked vehicles along the roadside has been causing severe traffic jams, especially in the evenings. To mitigate this, the traffic police have restricted roadside parking and designated specific parking areas near the park gates for visitors’ vehicles.

The beauty of Jubilee Park was being enhanced to ensure visitors get space to move around unhindered and spend time amidst nature but haphazardly parked vehicles come in the way of sightseeing in the Park.

However, despite the enforcement of the no-parking zone, some visitors continue to park their two-wheelers along the roadside, causing traffic disruptions
Traffic police have begun imposing fines on violators to ensure compliance.

Previously, many visitors parked their vehicles along the road and entered the park, exacerbating the congestion.
Now, all vehicles must be parked in the designated parking lot to maintain smooth traffic flow. The traffic police have urged visitors to adhere to the parking guidelines and cooperate with the new measures to avoid penalties and help ease the movement of vehicles in and around the park.

In 2022, dividers removed from Mango Bridge during bridge road repairs by Tata Steel UISL were repurposed as permanent barricades along one side of Jubilee Park Road to prevent parking. However, visitors, especially two-wheelers, continued parking leading to traffic congestion despite the measures.
Meanwhile, following the directives of Deputy Commissioner Ananya Mittal, a no-parking zone enforcement drive is being conducted in various parts of the city. The initiative, led by Sub-Divisional Officer (SDO) Dhalbhum Shatabdi Majumdar, aims to ensure smooth traffic flow. Vehicles parked in no-parking zones, including two-wheelers, four-wheelers, and auto-rickshaws, are being inspected and fined.
