Jamshedpur, June 26: Guru Nanak School, now in its 86th year, has been provided an NCC wing. The school management decided that an NCC wing was necessary to inculcate discipline and the spirit of patriotism. During a meeting with the Commanding Officer of 37 Jharkhand Battalion NCC, Colonel Sanjay Shandilya gave his nod to the proposal of initiating an NCC wing in the school.
Rajendra Kaur was given the responsibility to work out the relevant paraphernalia for institution of the NCC wing in the school. A separate chamber would be provided to Rajendra Kaur for the purpose. Outgoing President of the Sakchi Gurudwara Committee, Sardar Harvinder Singh Mantu said that it was his endeavor to ensure discipline among the students and also to motivate them for careers in the defense services. Newly elected President, Sardar Nishan Singh said, “It is a big achievement that an NCC wing will be introduced in our school. All of us will cooperate to ensure the success of the NCC wing that will fan the desire of nationalism, develop leadership skills and inculcate discipline in our students.”
An elated Principal In-charge Kulwinder Singh expressed to the Commanding Officer of 37 Jharkhand battalion of NCC, Col Sanjay Shandilya and Lt Col Deepak Kumar for their assent to set up an NCC wing in the school.
