Traditional self government system of tribals needs to be strengthened: Jharkhand CM

App of Majhi Pargana Mahal launched in Ghatshila

Ranchi, June 26: The need of the hour is not only to keep the traditional self-government system of tribal society intact but also strengthen it further.

This was opined by  Chief Minister Hemant Soren while addressing the concluding ceremony of the two-day mahasammelan of Majhi Pargana Mahal, Dhad Dishom at Ghatshila on Sunday as the chief guest.

 The Chief Minister said that the discussions and deep brainstorming done by all tribal traditional leaders on many important topics including the economic, socio-political and traditional system of Santhali tribal society, art-culture, education and health in this Mahasammelan, are the systems of Santal tribal society.

“This is a great initiative towards improving it. Whatever cooperation is needed from the government in this episode, it will be fulfilled,” said Soren.

The Chief Minister said that the struggle of the tribals is their identity. They have been protesting against injustice for a long time.

“We can never forget the contribution of our tribal brave sons in the freedom struggle of the country. Jharkhand has to be made of the dreams of these great men and martyrs. The government is determined for this. Today all of us should take inspiration from them and follow the paths shown by them,” added Soren.

The Chief Minister said that the doors of employment have been opened in the state. The process of filling the vacant posts in government departments has been started. At the same time, for self-employment, youth are being given Rs 50,000 to Rs 25 lakh under the Chief Minister’s Employment Generation Scheme. He said that many schemes have been started for the progress of tribal society in the field of education. Scholarships are being given to ST students for higher studies abroad. It is our endeavor that the tribal society also walks step by step with everyone and moves forward.

The Chief Minister launched the app of Majhi Pargana Mahal, Dhad Dishom on this occasion. In this way Santal tribal society came on digital platform. Now information about the system and activities of this society can be taken through the app.

The Chief Minister presented the appointment letter to Kapra Hansda, the mother of martyr Ganesh Hansda in this Mahasammelan. The Chief Minister honored the martyr’s father  Subada Hansda and brother Dinesh Hansda on this occasion. It is to be known that on June 15-16, 2020, Ganesh Hansda, a brave son of the Indian Army, was martyred while taking on the Chinese soldiers in the Galwan Valley.
