Jamshedpur gears up for a safe Diwali

Jamshedpur, Oct 22: The much-loved festival of Diwali, with its multitude of colours and vibes, is just around the corner and it’s time to soak in festive spirit.

Diwali, is traditionally celebrated by lighting earthen lamps, distributing sweets and gifts among friends and family. The practise of bursting crackers seems to have come much later and is becoming noisier by the day. Moreover, air pollution reaches dangerous levels during that time of the year.

However, over the years there have been campaigns across Jamshedpur to shift to a more environment friendly and a safe Diwali.

The district administration, corporate sectors and institutions have taken steps to ensure that festival of lights passes off safely and peacefully in the city.

Be it in terms of preparedness for emergencies in burnt incidents at health center to police patrolling to prevent trouble during Diwali revelry and rushing in to douse flames in case of fire mishaps, the district administration is on its toes for smooth celebration of the festival.
