Jamshedpur FC Concludes Grassroots Coaching Workshop for Tata Steel Foundation Coaches

Jamshedpur, July 21: Jamshedpur FC successfully concluded its grassroots coaching workshop for Tata Steel Foundation (TSF) coaches at the Tata Football Academy (TFA), with around 60 coaches from Jharkhand, Odisha and West Bengal taking part in the programme.

Conducted in two batches, the workshop was designed to equip grassroots coaches with modern coaching methodologies and a deeper understanding of player development pathways. The participating coaches underwent a combination of practical and classroom-based theory sessions, where Jamshedpur FC’s technical staff shared contemporary football coaching practices followed in professional environments.

The initiative is part of Jamshedpur FC’s continued commitment to strengthening the grassroots football ecosystem and creating a stronger talent development structure across the region. Through the programme, coaches working at Tata Steel Foundation’s football centres were introduced to modern training techniques, session planning, player management and age-specific coaching principles.

Tata Steel Foundation operates nearly 100 football centres across the region, impacting the development of more than 1,000 young footballers. Several players currently representing Jamshedpur FC’s youth teams have emerged from these grassroots centres, highlighting the importance of coach education in the player development process.

Speaking after the conclusion of the workshop, Arshad Hussain said: “We are extremely pleased with the response and engagement shown by all the coaches who participated in the workshop. There is tremendous potential at the grassroots level and empowering coaches is one of the most effective ways to improve player development. We look forward to conducting more such workshops in the future and continuing to support grassroots coaches with the knowledge and tools required to guide young footballers towards the professional pathway.”

The workshop further strengthened the collaboration between Jamshedpur FC and Tata Steel Foundation, with both organisations sharing a common vision of developing football from the grassroots and creating opportunities for aspiring players across eastern India.
