Jamshedpur: Frequency of inspection drives at hotels to be minimized, says SSP  

Jamshedpur Hotel Association felicitates Senior SP Prabhat Kumar

Jamshedpur, Nov 23: During an interactive session with the city hotel owners, Senior SP Prabhat Kumar promised that he has ensured less number of searches of hotels during odd hours as part of the crime control drive.

 Answering quires of the hotel owners, he said that during past one month, he has ensured that hotel owners are not unnecessarily targeted during crime control drive. He said that though he will make sure that the law and order is ensured in the city but hotels occupants are not grilled during odd hours. He promised that the policing is undergoing major change and the people need to support them. 

Prior to this, he was felicitated by the members of Jamshedpur Hotel and Restaurant Association (JHRA) on Wednesday at a ceremony in Hotel Jiva, Sakchi. On the occasion, he interacted with the hotel owners and supported them to curb crime. He instructed hotel owners to say ‘No’ to any vested demands from the police .

 He further instructed them to be vigilant during the checking in of guests.

If any suspicious activity is seen, it should be immediately reported to the police headquarters or through the nearest police post, he said.

On the occasion, hotel operators demanded to simplify the process of providing all the entry police to the guests staying in the hotel. The association is also considering launching an app for this. The team is working on improving all such things soon. Their main objective is that with this the police will be able to see online the information of every person staying in the hotel. If any criminal person stays in the hotel. If he runs away after committing a crime, the police will reach him quickly. Association officials said that they will fully cooperate with the police.

Tapas Sahu, chairman of the Confederation of Indian Industry, was also honoured for his efforts in the tourism sector.
