Jamshedpur firing incident solved: Accused Amit Chaudhary and Sonu Kumar arrested

Jamshedpur, Sep 6: The Telco police have successfully arrested two individuals in connection with a shooting incident that occurred on September 3 in Mahanand Basti. The accused, Amit Chaudhary alias Bapi Chaudhary and Sonu Kumar alias Sonu Swansi, were apprehended following a thorough investigation. The police have recovered a pistol, a magazine, two live bullets, and a mobile phone from the suspects.

Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Kishore Kaushal provided details of the case during a press conference on Friday. The shooting, which took place in Mahanand Basti under Telco police station, involved a bullet intended for one target but accidentally hitting another person. Both the shooter and the victim fled the scene immediately after the incident.

Upon further investigation, it was revealed that Amit Chaudhary, a resident of Veer Birsagarh Bus Stand currently living in Manifit, was the shooter. His accomplice, Sonu Kumar, was the unintended victim of the shooting. Both individuals are known for their criminal activities and had originally gone to shoot someone else. However, the shot mistakenly struck Sonu, leading to their hurried escape.

SSP Kaushal highlighted that both Amit and Sonu are notorious criminals with several cases registered against them. Amit has five cases in Telco and Sidgora police stations, including serious offenses such as theft, robbery, and murder. Sonu Kumar has two theft and robbery cases against him in Telco. Both suspects have also been linked to vehicle theft cases. The police are now investigating further to uncover additional details about their criminal network and other potential crimes in the city.
