Mahilpur, April 16: Jamshedpur FC U-18 are all set to begin their AIFF Elite League final round campaign with a high-stakes clash against Classic Football Academy in their Group B opener at Mahilpur, Punjab on April 17.
The Young Men of Steel enter the final phase on the back of a strong and consistent run, having progressed through the earlier rounds without defeat. With last season’s runners-up finish still fresh, the team will be eager to make a strong start against one of the most in-form sides in the competition.
Classic Football Academy come into the fixture after a dominant group-stage campaign, finishing as table toppers with an unbeaten record. Their attacking strength and defensive organisation make them a formidable opponent, setting the stage for a competitive opening encounter.
Jamshedpur FC, however, have shown resilience and discipline throughout the season, with a balanced approach in both attack and defence. The team’s ability to adapt to different match situations will be crucial as they take on a side that has been equally consistent.
Head coach Kaizad Ambapardiwalla stressed the importance of focus and execution ahead of the opening match. “The boys have shown great character to reach this stage, but the job is not done yet. We know we are up against a very strong team in the first game, so it is important that we stay disciplined, play with intensity and stick to our game plan,” he said.
The match will be played at Mahilpur Football Stadium at 7.30 AM on April 17 and will be live on Punjab FA youtube page.
