Because most of the tubewells located in the Municipal Council area are bad or have dried up. The main reason for the interruption of water supply is that the water supply transformer installed near intake well  near Baroda Ghat has been burnt.

The transformer broke down on Sunday. The transformer could not be repaired due to the closure of the city council office. The repair of the transformer was started from Monday morning. Repairs and power supply are likely to be restored by evening. According to the city manager, after the water supply was interrupted, water supply is being done by the city council in the affected areas through water tankers. However, the people of Jugsalai Purani Basti Road, Mahato Pada Road and ME School Road told that they have not received water from the tanker. Because of which they are forced to bring water from the railway side from the public tap located near Wireless Maidan.
