Ranchi, May 22: In anticipation of President Draupadi Murmu’s upcoming visit to Ranchi, a series of security measures have been put in place to ensure her safety and the smooth conduct of her engagements. The President is scheduled to arrive on May 24 and will stay in the city until May 26. Ranchi’s Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) has declared a temporary Red Zone within a two-kilometer radius of the Raj Bhavan, the Indian Institute of Information Technology (IIIT), and the new High Court building, in accordance with the Drone Rules 2021.

The decision to establish the Red Zone was made due to concerns over extremist and terrorist activities. To enforce the restrictions within the designated area, four Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officers have been appointed to oversee the necessary arrangements. The deployment of these officers will ensure strict adherence to the Drone Rules 2021, preventing unauthorized drone operations in the Red Zone without prior permission from the competent authority.

President Draupadi Murmu’s itinerary includes several significant events during her stay in Ranchi. Upon her arrival on May 24, she will proceed to Deoghar before participating in the inauguration ceremony of the new High Court building in Dhurva. Accommodation and other amenities have been arranged at the Raj Bhavan for her overnight stay.

On May 25, the President will address a program organized for tribal women in Khunti, followed by her presence at the convocation ceremony of IIIT in Namkum, Ranchi. Once again, she will spend the night at the Raj Bhavan.

May 26 will be marked by meetings with distinguished guests at the Raj Bhavan, after which President Draupadi Murmu will depart for Ranchi airport.

To ensure the smooth execution of these programs and the safety of President Draupadi Murmu, key responsibilities have been assigned to IAS officers. ADG Campaign Sanjay Anandrao Lathkar and Land Revenue Secretary Dr. Amitabh Kaushal have been entrusted with overall program management and security arrangements.

The inauguration program of the new High Court building will be overseen by IAS Jitendra Kumar Singh. IAS Rahul Purwar will be responsible for the convocation ceremony at IIIT in Namkum. IAS Prashant Kumar will handle the scheduled program in Khunti, while IAS Dr. Manish Ranjan will coordinate the President’s visit to Deoghar. With the red zones in place and the assignment of competent IAS officers, Ranchi is geared up to welcome President Draupadi Murmu and ensure a secure and successful visit.
