Jamshedpur, Jan 2: In a shocking incident, the circle officer (CO) of Dumaria block in East Singhbhum district died of a cardiac arrest on Monday morning. CO Ramanaresh Soni was 42 year old and suffered pain in his chest at home in Musabani this morning. His family members rushed him to a Ghatshila-based medical centre.
The doctors at the medical facility immediately referred him to Tata Main Hospital as his condition was deteriorating. The family members rushed him to Jamshedpur travelling a distance of 45 km, but as he was taken to the hospital, doctors on emergency duty declared him as brought dead.
The news of Soni’s death spread grief in the administrative circle leading several senior officers in the district administration to rush to Tata Main Hospital.

An official of the district administration said Ramanaresh Soni did not have any medical history involving heart ailment as such. He was fit and healthy.
“The doctors at the Tata Main Hospital have declared Ramanaresh as brought dead, this has turned into a police case. The police have referred the body to MGM medical college for conducting a postmortem,” he said.
Sources in the bereaved family said that the CO suffered heart pain while he was preparing to go to his office by finishing his daily household chores.
