Chaibasa, May 20: A tragic head-on collision between a bus and a motorcycle claimed a rider’s life on Wednesday morning near Kuju on the Chaibasa-Jamshedpur route.
The Maa Parvati bus, traveling from Jamshedpur to Chaibasa, struck the motorcycle near a sharp bend in Kuju, critically injuring the rider, Suraj Mahakud. Upon receiving the alert, Mufassil Police Station personnel rushed to the scene and immediately shifted Mahakud to Sadar Hospital in Chaibasa. However, he succumbed to his injuries during treatment.
Mahakud resided in Roladih village under the jurisdiction of the Rajnagar police station. Family sources stated that Mahakud was traveling to Chakradharpur to bring his wife home when the fatal accident occurred.
Eyewitnesses alleged that the bus was traveling at a high speed and slammed into the motorcycle as the two vehicles came face-to-face around the turn. The police have initiated an investigation into the accident, which has left the victim’s family and local residents in deep shock.
