PM Modi Praises Huge Turnout at Purulia Despite Blistering Heat

Purulia (West Bengal) (IANS): Prime Minister Narendra Modi hailed the “record high” enthusiasm of supporters in Purulia this Sunday, as thousands braved a scorching heatwave to attend his campaign rally ahead of the final phases of the West Bengal Assembly elections.

Upon arriving at the helipad, the Prime Minister shared a video on the social media platform X showcasing the massive crowds waiting to greet him.

“Scorching Sunday afternoon in Purulia, but the enthusiasm is record high!” PM Modi posted. He noted that the excitement led to an impromptu roadshow before he addressed the packed rally.

Supporters Showcase Talent and Loyalty

Many attendees brought personal gifts to express their support. One supporter presented a painting depicting the Prime Minister with his late mother, Heeraben Modi.

“I spent four nights working on this painting after the rally was announced,” the artist said. “I want to show respect to PM Modi’s mother for giving India a leader who makes us proud globally. Her blessings will bring him victory in West Bengal.”

Voters Air Grievances Against TMC

While excitement for the Prime Minister ran high, many locals used the occasion to criticize the Trinamool Congress (TMC) government. One woman expressed her frustration over the lack of safety for women under Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee.

“It is shameful that despite having a female Chief Minister, women in this state still lack security,” she said.

Another local echoed these sentiments, alleging that the TMC has prioritized corruption over development and youth employment for 15 years. “This level of enthusiasm clearly reflects that the people are ready to form a BJP government in Bengal this time,” he added.
