Jamshedpur: A comprehensive review meeting was convened under the leadership of Deputy Commissioner Karn Satyarthi to assess the progress of development schemes in Musabani, an aspirational block in East Singhbhum district. The session, held at the Collectorate Auditorium, included participation from Deputy Development Commissioner Aniket Sachan, Block Development Officer, Circle Officer, Medical Officer In-Charge, and other departmental officials.
The meeting focused on evaluating the current status and future plans across various sectors, including health, agriculture, social welfare, fisheries, horticulture, cooperation, and drinking water and sanitation. Emphasizing the importance of accurate reporting, the Deputy Commissioner stated that any form of misreporting undermines the potential for genuine improvement.
In the health sector, directives were issued to promote institutional deliveries by effectively utilizing government resources and discouraging home births. It was mandated that each panchayat should have at least one Mamta vehicle. Furthermore, the formation of Village Health Sanitation and Nutrition Day (VHSND) committees at the Anganwadi level was instructed to ensure proper monitoring of maternal and child health and to promote nutrition.
Regarding education, the Deputy Commissioner instructed that teachers should not be engaged in non-academic tasks during school hours and should refrain from visiting the District Education Office with administrative files during teaching time. District education officials were directed to avoid organizing teacher meetings during instructional hours. Attention was also drawn to the failure of 43 students from Musabani block in the intermediate examinations, with instructions to provide them with adequate preparation for the upcoming compartmental exams. Additionally, a survey was ordered to assess the availability of tap water in government schools across the district, with a report to be submitted within a week.
The Social Welfare Department was tasked with training Sevikas and Sahayikas, ensuring timely and accurate reporting on the Poshan Tracker App, and providing proper care to beneficiaries. The progress of the Open Defecation Free (ODF) Plus campaign was also reviewed, with the Executive Engineer directed to achieve 100% sanitation coverage in the block.
Concluding the meeting, the Deputy Commissioner urged all departmental officials to develop a special action plan focusing on health, agriculture, social welfare, fisheries, horticulture, cooperation, and drinking water sanitation for Musabani block. He emphasized that effective implementation of these schemes, coupled with teamwork, is essential for improving the block’s performance and uplifting the living standards of its residents.
